Former President Jimmy Carter Requests Joe Biden to Deliver His Eulogy

Former President Jimmy Carter, at 98 years of age, is the oldest living U.S. president. On Monday, President Biden shared that he had been asked by Carter to deliver his eulogy when he passes away. Carter and Biden have a long-standing relationship, having bonded over both being relative outsiders to Washington after Biden endorsed Carter’s run for the Democratic presidential nomination in 1976. While Carter is in home hospice care in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, Biden was on a three-day trip to California and Nevada, speaking to 40 guests at a fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe. Biden spoke of his “Cancer Moonshot” plan to halve the death rate from cancer over the next 25 years and asked for funding for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health.
