Hurricane Idalia caused significant damage along the Sarasota Bayfront in Florida. Aerial views show the aftermath of the storm, with floodwaters topping the seawall and boats beached along the shoreline. One sailboat, the Lasota, was pushed aground and had to be removed by Sea Tow. The high tide at Marina Jack added to the flooding, and water flowed over the seawall where boats were docked. In addition to the damage to boats and the seawall, there were reports of people wading in floodwaters at the Dolphin Fountain on the Sarasota Bayfront. The extent of the damage and the cost of repairs have yet to be determined.
