The White House has accused Iran of actively facilitating rocket and drone attacks on US military bases in Iraq and Syria. US officials have revealed that they have intelligence indicating that Iranian-backed militia groups are planning to escalate their attacks against US forces in the Middle East. To counter this threat, the US has sent naval power to the region, including two aircraft carriers, warships, and Marines. Additionally, the Pentagon has announced the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system and additional Patriot air defense missile system battalions to the Middle East.
