Republicans are accusing Attorney General Merrick Garland of making a "wildly inappropriate" choice in appointing U.S. Attorney David Weiss as special counsel in the Hunter Biden investigation. However, it seems that they forgot that they themselves requested Weiss be given "special counsel protections and authorities" last year.
Senator Ted Cruz, who signed the initial letter requesting Weiss' appointment, is now calling for his impeachment, along with Joe Biden and Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Cruz claims that Weiss was involved in covering up criminal activity and obstructing justice in order to protect Biden. Senator Marsha Blackburn, another signatory of the letter, also criticized Weiss as a "collaborator" with the Bidens.
Meanwhile, former Vice President Mike Pence expressed his approval of the appointment, saying he is "hopeful" that Weiss will conduct the investigation without bias. Pence believes that the American people deserve to know the truth about any financial benefits Biden and his family may have received from foreign nationals.
It seems that Republicans are now flip-flopping on who they want to investigate Hunter Biden, criticizing the same person they once supported. Will their accusations hold any weight, or is this just political maneuvering? Only time will tell.
