Are Kentucky's largest school district classes still canceled due to bus schedule mess?

Jefferson County Public Schools in Kentucky, the state's largest school district, has canceled classes for the second and third day of school due to a major transportation disaster. The district recently implemented a new transportation system, developed by a firm called AlphaRoute, which uses artificial intelligence to plan routes and assign bus stop locations. However, on the first day of school, the system experienced a logistical meltdown, resulting in some children being on buses until almost 10 p.m. Parents were left anxious and frustrated as they struggled to locate their children and ensure their safety. As a result, classes will be off early next week while the district works to untangle the mess and make necessary adjustments to the transportation system. Superintendent Marty Pollio has expressed his apologies for the failure and is committed to regaining the trust of parents and ensuring the safety and reliability of the transportation services. It remains to be seen when classes will resume next week.
