Is the Nestle Cookie Dough Safe to Eat?

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration has issued a recall for two batches of Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough "break and bake" bar products after wood fragments were found inside them. The affected products were produced on April 24-25, 2023, and were distributed and sold at stores nationwide. While no illnesses or injuries have been reported, Nestle USA is taking this action as a precautionary measure after a small number of consumers contacted them about the issue. The recall does not involve other Nestle Toll House products. Consumers who have purchased the affected packages are advised not to prepare or eat the product. They should return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement. Nestle USA has apologized for the inconvenience and is prioritizing the quality, safety, and integrity of their products. For more information or questions about the recall, consumers can contact Nestle USA at (800) 681-1678.
