Flash Mob Robbery at Los Angeles Nordstrom Store at Westfield Topanga Mall

A shocking scene of mob-style mayhem unfolded at a Los Angeles mall on Saturday as up to 50 thieves ransacked the Nordstrom store at the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park. Videos circulating on social media show the group, clad in dark hoodies and face masks, shattering display cases and grabbing high-end designer accessories. The criminals resorted to attacking security guards with bear spray as they made off with thousands of dollars worth of luxury handbags and clothing.

Investigators estimate the stolen merchandise to be worth between $60,000 and $100,000. Witnesses report seeing the thieves fleeing the scene in vehicles, including Lexus and BMW cars. Although the LAPD has not made any arrests at this time, they are actively searching for 30 to 50 suspects.

This incident comes on the heels of a similar flash mob robbery at a Yves Saint Laurent store in Glendale, where thieves made off with approximately $300,000 worth of merchandise. Flash mob robberies have been on the rise in Los Angeles County, prompting Mayor Karen Bass to issue a statement calling the Nordstrom incident "absolutely unacceptable" and vowing to hold those responsible accountable.

The investigation into the Nordstrom robbery is ongoing, and the LAPD is committed to bringing the suspects to justice and preventing future attacks on retailers in the area.
