Dharmendra, the son of local farmers, had been working with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and was responsible for transmitting signals for the lunar endeavor. With a background in mechanical engineering and a previous association with the Mangalyaan project, Dharmendra's journey exemplifies academic excellence and determination.

With this achievement, India becomes the fourth nation in the world to accomplish a lunar landing, and the first to achieve a landing on the lunar south pole.
