Scottsdale Christian's defense put on an impressive display in their season opener against San Tan Charter. Despite San Tan Charter's top-flight quarterback, Zayden Neill, throwing for 222 yards, Scottsdale Christian's defense made him work for every yard. The Eagles' defense also had a key goal line stand in the third quarter, stopping San Tan Charter from scoring and essentially sealing the game. This performance indicates that Scottsdale Christian's defense has made strides and improved from last season when they gave up 71 points in the semifinals. Head coach Mike Sheahan is pleased with the signs of improvement and believes that the defense played physical when it mattered most. The win for Scottsdale Christian not only showcased their high-octane offense, led by senior quarterback Jack Atkinson, who threw for 335 yards and four touchdowns, but also highlighted the improvement and effectiveness of their defense. It's still early in the season, but the Eagles' defense off to a strong start.
