The remains of Alisha Watts, a missing woman from North Carolina, have been found in the town of Norman, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Watts, 39, was last seen leaving the home of her boyfriend, James Dunmore, on July 16. Dunmore has since been arrested and charged with her murder. The investigation into Watts' disappearance had been ongoing for over a month before her remains were located near the border of Richmond and Montgomery counties. Watts was a mental health advocate and was set to attend a comedy show after visiting Dunmore. However, she never showed up, and her car was later found missing. Dunmore, who has a previous criminal history, was found unresponsive in Watts' vehicle two days later. Investigators later found a shell casing near Dunmore's home and seized various items as evidence. Family members of Watts have expressed relief at the arrest but are still processing the news of her death.
