The Los Angeles Angels have placed infielder Brandon Drury on the 10-day injured list due to a left shoulder contusion. On Sunday, the Angels also announced the recall of infielder Andrew Velazquez from Triple-A Salt Lake. Drury sustained the injury during Thursday's game against the Chicago White Sox while playing second base. He attempted to make a diving stop on a ground ball hit by Yasmani Grandal and experienced pain for the remainder of the game. Despite his range of motion improving, Drury still feels significant soreness and will use the time on the injured list for rest and recovery. This comes as a setback for Drury, who has played in 75 games this season and boasts an impressive .275 batting average with 14 home runs and 45 RBIs. In the meantime, Velazquez will join the Angels for his second stint in the big leagues this season. He previously hit .231 in 12 games during last month's call-up. The Angels have also released infielder Jake Lamb, who struggled with a .216 batting average in 19 games.
