Will PM Modi Hold a Caste Census? Rahul Gandhi's Claims in Rajasthan

In a rally in Rajasthan, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi claims that Prime Minister Modi will not hold a caste census and that only the Congress party can do it. Gandhi criticizes PM Modi and says that instead of saying "Jai Bharat Mata," he should be saying "Adani ji ki Jai", referring to the close relationship between the PM and the Adani Group, a major conglomerate in India.

Gandhi's comments come as campaigning for the Rajasthan and Telangana assembly elections continues. The two states are set to go to the polls on November 25 and 30, respectively. These elections are being seen as the 'semi-final' before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The issue of a caste census has been a contentious one in India, with some politicians and activists advocating for the collection of caste data to better understand social and economic disparities. However, there are concerns that a caste census could be used for political purposes and further marginalize certain groups.

It remains to be seen whether PM Modi will address the issue of a caste census in the future. The counting of votes for all five states, including Rajasthan and Telangana, will take place on December 3.
