Will Tiger Woods Be a Major Factor at This Year's Masters?

As the Masters Tournament approaches, fans and analysts alike are wondering whether Tiger Woods will be able to compete at the same level that made him a five-time winner. While tournament golf competitions might not be the same without him, Woods' health has been the primary concern. After the 2021 car accident that nearly caused the loss of his leg, Woods played only four rounds of tournament golf this year, logging an average driving distance of 306.3 yards, about 20 yards behind Rory McIlroy. Despite this, golf legend and friend Fred Couples believes that Woods "hit it really strong and solid, and he looks good" during Monday's practice round that included Couples, Woods, Tom Kim, and McIlroy. However, Couples also acknowledged that Woods' movement did not appear any different from around the same time last year, and that he was doubtful that Woods' painful leg would heal any further. Woods' post-accident health and the ability to play 72 holes still remain the biggest question marks.
