Are Pakistan Cricket Players Struggling with Security Measures in India?

Pakistan's Director of Cricket, Mickey Arthur, has voiced concerns about the strict security measures facing the team at the World Cup in India. Arthur described the security as "stifling" and compared it to the isolation experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic. Players are not allowed to leave their hotel without heavy security, leading to limited outings and time spent in hotel rooms. The tight security measures have affected the team's ability to socialize and have meals outside of their hotel. This is the first time Pakistan is playing a tournament in India since 2016, and the heightened security is a result of historical and diplomatic tensions between the two countries. Despite the challenges, Pakistan must win their upcoming match against New Zealand to stay in contention for the semi-finals. Arthur also mentioned that the lack of participation in the Indian Premier League puts the Pakistani players at a slight disadvantage. Pakistan players have had to adapt quickly to the new conditions in the World Cup, but Arthur says they have embraced the experience.
