The initiative, in its 18th year, aims to support communities in maintaining or upgrading aging sports and recreation infrastructure. The last time an Okanagan community won was in 2016, when Lumby received $100,000 for upgrades and hosted a pre-season NHL game. With the recent closure of Enderby's Memorial Arena, this could be a chance for the hard-luck town to rally and nominate themselves. The nomination process involves individuals submitting a story that showcases the need for upgrades and the community's commitment to hockey. After nominations, there will be a judging period, followed by a public voting phase to determine the winner. The champion community will be crowned on March 30. In its history, Kraft Hockeyville has awarded over $4.8 million to 97 communities. Nominations for Kraft Hockeyville 2024 close on February 18.
