The San Jose State volleyball team fought hard but ultimately fell short in a five-set match against Nevada. Despite strong performances from Nayeli Ti'a and Brooke Slusser, the Spartans were unable to secure the victory. Ti'a recorded 15 kills and 11 digs for her fifth double-double of the week, while Slusser had 40 assists and 11 digs. Selin Ozdemir also had a career-best performance with 10 kills and nine digs. The Spartans put up a strong blocking defense with Jiana Lawson and Brooke Bryant each contributing four blocks. However, it was not enough to overcome Nevada's offense. Alyssa Bjork added three blocks, and Laurel Barsocchini had 14 digs for the Spartans. The match ended with a 3-2 victory for Nevada, with scores of 20-25, 25-18, 25-23, 20-25, and 15-9. The Spartans now have a record of 12-13 overall and 3-9 in conference play. They will return home for their next matches against Colorado State and Wyoming.
