Can the Raptors compete without a supermax contract for Siakam?

Pascal Siakam has missed out on being eligible for a supermax extension with the Toronto Raptors this summer after failing to make this year's All-NBA team. Siakam had a career-high season with 24.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists per game but still missed out by 66 votes to LeBron James, who ultimately took the final of the two third-team forward spots. Despite not being supermax extension eligible, Siakam could still hold out for a bigger deal, as he could qualify for next year's All-NBA team and sign his supermax as a free agent instead of as an extension. If he does not qualify, Siakam would be eligible for roughly a $248.8 million five-year contract from the Raptors as a free agent in 2024. With Siakam's future unclear, it remains to be seen whether the Raptors can still contend without a supermax contract for Siakam.
