Investment firm Sixth Street is entering the soccer business by launching a new company that will host annual soccer competitions between Europe's biggest clubs in the United States. The Soccer Champions Tour 2023 schedule features six soccer juggernauts: Barcelona, Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal and AC Milan. Legends, part of the Sixth Street portfolio, will serve as the tour's commercial partner, while AEG assists with the event's technical operations and logistics.The Tour aims to capitalize on the growing popularity of European soccer in the US market and will expand in the future to include youth competitions and women's clubs. The competition will feature eight games, starting on July 22 when Barcelona faces off with Juventus at Levi's Stadium, and will finish on August 2 when Juventus plays Real Madrid at Camping World Stadium. Barcelona and Real Madrid will also go head to head on July 29 at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Sixth Street will also participate by utilizing its portfolio support to control the monetization of the games via merchandise, hospitality, and sponsorship sales.
