Canyon Police Department has launched an investigation into the disappearance of Shelly Johnston, a 55-year-old woman who has been missing since Thursday afternoon. Authorities are asking for the public's assistance in locating her.
Johnston, described as having gray hair and blue eyes, was last seen in the vicinity of Canyon National Park at around 2:00 p.m. on Thursday. She was reportedly hiking alone and intended to explore the park's trails. When she failed to return home, her family became concerned and contacted the police.
Search and rescue teams have been deployed to comb the area surrounding the park. Helicopters and K-9 units are also being utilized in the search efforts. Local authorities are urging anyone with information regarding Johnston's whereabouts to come forward.
