D-backs' top pitching prospect Brandon Pfaadt roughed up in MLB debut but team secures 12-7 victory over Rangers

Arizona Diamondbacks' top pitching prospect Brandon Pfaadt had a tough time in his Major League debut against the Texas Rangers, giving up seven earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. Despite this, the D-backs pulled off a 12-7 win against the Rangers in a slugfest on Wednesday. Pfaadt allowed nine hits, a walk and struck out three batters, while also giving up four home runs and two doubles. However, he took the loss in stride and appreciated the support from his fans. Meanwhile, infielder Seth Beer was designated for assignment to make way for Pfaadt's spot on the 40-man roster, while right-hander Peter Solomon was optioned to Triple-A Reno to make room for Pfaadt on the 26-man roster. Beer, who was acquired from the Houston Astros in a 2019 trade, has yet to appear in the majors this season and Registered a .200 batting average with two homers and 12 RBIs in 70 at-bats.
