'Expulsion Looms for George Santos as Congress Prepares for Vote'

Republican congressman George Santos is facing expulsion from Congress following a scathing report by the House ethics committee that found substantial evidence of lawbreaking. Despite his defiant speech, Santos admitted during a conversation on X Spaces that he expects to be expelled when the resolution goes to the floor. The comments come after the House ethics committee chair introduced a resolution to expel Santos once the body returns from the Thanksgiving break. Many of his colleagues, who previously opposed the effort, now support the expulsion, citing the findings of the committee's investigation into alleged misconduct. The report found that Santos used campaign funds for personal expenses and caused false or incomplete reports to be filed. Santos did not cooperate with the report and repeatedly evaded requests for information. Santos, who is facing federal fraud charges and has admitted to fabricating parts of his personal and professional history, is prepared to face expulsion while maintaining his innocence.
