As Arizona State University (ASU) prepares for its first football game of the season, the city of Tempe is implementing street closures and restrictions to ensure public safety. These closures and restrictions will be in effect before, during, and after the game.

According to the City of Tempe, several streets will be closed from five hours prior to kickoff until the game starts. These include Veterans Way between Sixth Street and College Avenue, as well as College Avenue between Sixth and Seventh streets. Additionally, certain streets will be closed or restricted from two hours before kickoff until one hour after the game ends, including Fifth Street between Forest and College avenues, and Eastbound Rio Salado Parkway between Ash and Mill avenues.

During halftime and the start of the third quarter, further street closures will be enforced. Westbound Rio Salado Parkway will be closed at McClintock Drive, Southbound Scottsdale Road/Rural Road will be closed between Curry Road and Rio Salado Parkway, and Eastbound Gilbert Drive will be closed between Scottsdale Road and College Avenue, among others.

These measures are put in place to ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic during the ASU football game. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and follow the instructions of traffic officials.
