After 14 years away, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez is reportedly returning to his boyhood club, Chivas, as a free agent. The legendary Mexican striker began his professional career with Chivas and has now decided to make a sentimental return. Hernandez, known for his successful European club career, including stints with Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Bayer Leverkusen, spent the last four seasons in MLS with the LA Galaxy before suffering a torn ACL in June. Although still recovering from his injury, Hernandez is expected to be presented as a new Chivas player on Saturday, January 27th. Chivas, currently coached by Fernando Gago, is in need of a threat in the area, and Hernandez's return could potentially solve that problem. While it remains to be seen how quickly he will be able to return to the pitch, Hernandez's homecoming is sure to delight fans of both Chivas and the Mexican national team.
