Vladimir Guerrero joins Vladimir Sr. as first father-son Home Run Derby winner

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Toronto Blue Jays has joined his father, Vladimir Guerrero Sr., as the first father-son duo to win the MLB Home Run Derby. Guerrero Jr. clinched the title by hitting 25 home runs in the final round, defeating Randy Arozarena of the Tampa Bay Rays, who hit 23 home runs. Guerrero Jr. had a slow start in the finals but picked up the pace and hit 14 homers in the last 1 minute and 13 seconds of regulation. He finished the two-minute regulation period with 20 home runs and added another five in his bonus time. Arozarena had a strong performance, hitting a total of 82 home runs throughout the event, but fell short in the final round. Guerrero Jr. set a record for the longest home run of the night, hitting one that traveled 445 feet. He also had an average home run distance of 408 feet and an average exit velocity of 104.6 mph. Guerrero Sr. won the Home Run Derby in 2007.
