The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has decided to build a memorial at the Wankhede Stadium in honour of MS Dhoni's historic World Cup-winning six in 2011. A seat located in the area where Dhoni hit the winning six against Sri Lanka will be named after him. MCA President Amol Kale said the association has identified the area where the ball landed, and plans are underway to create a permanent memorial at the iconic stadium. However, the date for the inauguration is yet to be confirmed. The officials initially intended for Dhoni to attend the inauguration at the Chennai Super Kings match against Mumbai Indians on April 8, but it remains unclear whether he will be available at such short notice. The Wankhede Stadium already has stands and gates named after cricket legends such as Vinoo Mankad, Sunil Gavaskar, and Dilip Vengsarkar.
