Are the Yankees back to their winning ways?

Aaron Judge and the Yankees won 10-5 against the Athletics on Tuesday night. Gleyber Torres homered for the second consecutive game and registered three RBIs. Rookie Jordan Diaz from the A’s hit three homers in the game for the first time in his career, with two coming off consecutive leadoff drives. This victory marked Clarke Schmidt’s first big league win as a starter, pitching a career-high six innings while allowing two runs. Aaron Hicks and Harrison Bader also performed well.

Yesterday’s win may suggest a revitalization of the Bronx Bombers that are struggling with injuries to many of their key players, with Giancarlo Stanton sitting out and likely to be out until late May or early June. Aaron Judge's return to the lineup provides a boost for the batting order, given that the Yankees entered Monday with the seventh-worst on-base percentage in all of MLB.

The Yankees will need to keep their momentum going during upcoming games against tough opponents, including the AL East-leading Rays. Even so, their victory this week only fuels the Yankees’ dreams of competing for a championship despite struggling this season.
