Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins is set to return to the field after missing the past three games due to a hamstring injury. Head coach Zac Taylor announced on Saturday that Higgins will play in Monday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, as he did not receive an injury designation on the team's injury report.
Higgins' return will provide a boost to quarterback Jake Browning, who made his first career NFL start last week. Browning completed 73% of his passes for 227 yards but only managed to put up 10 points in a loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. With Higgins back in the lineup, the Bengals hope to improve their offensive production.
Higgins, a 6-foot-4 wideout, has been a key part of the Bengals' wide receiver trio, alongside Ja'Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd. In seven games this season, Higgins has recorded 27 receptions for 327 yards and two touchdowns. His presence on the field poses a matchup nightmare for opposing cornerbacks, especially when lining up in the slot.
The Bengals, currently 5-6, are looking to break their three-game losing streak and stay in contention in the AFC playoff race. A win against the Jaguars would be vital for their postseason hopes.
