Israel-Palestine conflict - Israeli army accused of assaulting medical staff and stealing corpses at Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital. The Israeli army raided the hospital, destroyed medical equipment, and cut off electricity. Patients and doctors were arrested and detained during the siege. The army also blew up the electricity generators. The hospital was besieged for 10 days before the army withdrew. The withdrawal came after a temporary humanitarian pause between Israel and Hamas took effect. The World Health Organization (WHO) expressed concern over the fate of the hospital director who was detained by Israel. The WHO called for the legal and human rights of the detained health workers to be fully observed. During a joint-UN mission, 151 patients, relatives, and health workers were transferred from the hospital. The mission was carried out amidst intense fighting and shelling in the area. The WHO is extremely concerned about the safety of the estimated 100 patients and health workers who remained at Al-Shifa Hospital.
