After his escape from the Warren County Jail in Pennsylvania, authorities have been on a manhunt for 34-year-old Michael Burham, who was charged with homicide and kidnapping. Burham was last seen wearing a blue denim coat, white and orange pants, and orange Croc-style shoes, but investigators believe he may have changed his clothing. They also warn that he should be considered armed and dangerous based on his past criminal activity.
Burham managed to escape by using exercise equipment to scale the wall of the jail and then used bed sheets to get over and down. Following his escape, officers went door-to-door in the City of Warren, and K-9 dogs and a Pennsylvania State Police helicopter were deployed. The search was later expanded, using drones to search the nearby Allegany National Forest. Pennsylvania State Police has assumed command of the manhunt and is working with federal, state, and local law enforcement.
Authorities believe that Burham is still in the general area, potentially hiding in a wooded area due to his self-taught survivalist and military training skills. The search is proving challenging due to the rugged and steep terrain. As of now, investigators have not determined his whereabouts, but are advising the public to keep their residences, outbuildings, and vehicles secured at all times and to report any sightings to the police immediately.
